Week 06: Vertical Movement

Model 01: Experimenting vertical movement through a typical staircase that is encased with an outer shell that could potentially be adjustable. This idea of parasitic architecture which could continue and join areas to create outdoor spaces to coincide with indoor areas. The model also frames views and uses the idea of journey and experience to encourage the visitor through the site.

Drawings from sketchbook, experimenting with vertical movement and connecting the upper and lower spaces.

Model 01: Geometric structure encasing the existing structures to create new public external spaces. - Feedback from sam

Upper level of Coal Loader to be transformed into exhibition spaces, public gathering spaces and link together the artists spaces.

Model 02: Large structured ramp that will link spaces. This will include viewing platforms and a slow transition across the site.

Model 03: Underground circulation space that could include chutes and vertical voids that can support vegetation. These spaces can also link to the artists spaces.
