-From 1943 to 2014
I have overlayed the 1943 base map to interpret the different land uses and developments over the past 70 years. The evidence shows the grid of main roads and the developments are clearly defined by 1943 and have not changed dramatically since. The railroad had already been extended from North Sydney and now stopped at Waverton, previously named 'Bay Road station.' The main difference through the maps is the industrial areas are all situated on the waters edges, these areas have now been transformed into public parklands and recreational places.
